The best kung fu movies of 2011.  Although the emphasis should be on the fighting and the action scenes, it's hard to stomach movies with zero storyline or cardboard acting.  Thus, besides the fighting, some points should be given to well rounded films.

Seems like not only Hollywood is into rebooting franchises these days.  A Chinese Fairy Tale is a reboot of the 1987 A Chinese Ghost Story, which was and still is an awesome film.  So far, the action sequences look decent and since it's a reboot, we already know the storyline is superb.

I have no idea what the story is but it looks decent.  The fighting styles are probably more stylish than substance but that could be fun to watch too!

The production quality of this film is high.  The costumes and sets look beautiful.  The storyline is different than the usual fighting fare and is similar to Sherlock Holmes but with wire-work fighting.  The fighting sequences are pretty good too.

Starring: Andy Lau, Carina Lau, and Bingbing Li
Director: Hark Tsui

Supposedly, not entirely a remake of 1992's New Dragon Gate Inn but will be based off of it.  Will be in 3D.

Starring: Jet Li, Zhou Xun

Director: Tsui Hark
